NEW FOR THE 2023 IHAAZ SEASON
Our next season kicks off in January of 2023 at The Tucson Indoor Sports Center and concludes at the end of May at the 2023 State Championship tournament held at the Wheel House in Prescott, AZ. The info below highlights changes that have come to IHAAZ for this next season.
- Play IHAAZ as Stand Alone Events or Play to Compete in the IHAAZ State Finals
- A team may enter individual IHAAZ event just to participate and then disband after if they do not intend on qualifying for IHAAZ State Finals.
- If a team disbands, all players on their roster become "free agents" and are free to join another team for the remainder of the season. Players may only make one roster move per season. See 2023 State Finals Qualification Rules and 2023 Age Groups/Divisions/Roster Rules for more info.
- Divisional Skill Levels -
- With the goal of having more parity within each age group, teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U divisions will now be classified as either "Silver" or "Gold" based on roster strength at the time of registration. See 2023 Age Groups/Divisions/Roster Rules page for further info.
- The 8u division will be designated as a "developmental" age group with only one skill level (Silver) being offered. Teams that are formed with players that are overly dominant maybe required to play up in the 10u Silver division.
- State Finals Qualification Rules
- Gold and Silver level teams will have slightly different qualification guidelines allowing Gold level teams more leeway in qualifying players. See 2023 State Finals Qualification Rules for more info.
- Changes to the Registration Process and fees
- Teams will now be submitting both their payment and their rosters at the time of registration, with a firm deadline in place to give the series administration ample time to work out divisions and put out a schedule at least 7 days prior to the event. More information on the full registration process to be be announced late November, 2022.
- Entry fees for the 2023 season: Qualifier events = $625, State Finals = $850.
- Fees will be paid at the time of registration, directly through the IHAAZ website via credit card.
